Do Not Disturb
Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question that is not answered below? Contact us
or ask in the discussion
forum.
-
How does this work? Is this a service or an app?
Do Not Disturb is an app that runs on your device. It simply automates what
you do when you receive a call that you don't want to answer - press the "End" button.
When your phone rings, it determines if the call should be rejected based on your
settings. It will then press "End" for you - usually before the first ring. The
rejected call will still show up in your Call History as a missed call, but you
won't hear it ring.
-
Does this interfere with my cell phone plan, voicemail or any other carrier services
in any other way?
Nope. All it is is a way to reject calls without pushing the End button yourself.
-
What are some scenarios in which this can be useful?
Here are some examples:
- You're taking a nap and don't want to take any calls.
- You're on a date and don't want to be disturbed by anyone except your family in
case of emergency.
- The ex-boyfriend/girlfriend. You want to ignore phone calls from specific contacts.
- You're on vacation and want to ignore calls from all "Work" contacts.
- You want to ignore calls from anyone who is not in your Contacts list (telemarketers).
-
Why do I need this app, when I can simply turn off my phone or put it on vibrate?
If you turn your phone off, you may miss important calls from people you care about
the most. For example, you turn off your phone to avoid work calls at night, but
your mom can't reach you anymore.
If you put your phone on Vibrate, you still have to screen your calls manually and
see who's calling each time. Do Not Disturb does this for you automatically so you
don't have to make a split second decision each time your phone buzzes.
-
How many profiles can I create?
At this time there's no limit on the number of profiles you can create.
-
Can I tell the app to automatically use a certain profile depending on time of day?
Not in the initial version, but we're definitely going to look into this for an
upcoming upgrade.
-
Which phones does Do Not Disturb support?
Do Not Disturb supports all Windows Mobile® 5, 6 and 6.1 phones. This includes
both "Pocket PC" and "Smartphone" devices, which are also known as "Professional"
and "Standard" Edition.

What's the deal with the beta?
We're hoping to gather feedback from the beta and ship the final version around
the first week of January '09. The final version will be priced similar to our other apps, (between $4.95-$9.95).
