How does this work? Is this a service or an app?
No Calls is an app that runs on your device. It simply automates what you
do when you receive a call that you don't want to answer - press the "End" button.
When your phone rings, it determines if the call should be rejected based on your
settings. It will then press "End" for you. The rejected call will still show up
in your Call History as a missed call.
-
Can you explain the price, trial period, upgrade policy etc.?
Price is $9.95. You can download a 14-day trial (the trial has no restrictions).
If you purchase a license after 14 days, simply enter the serial number into the
app and keep using it (nothing to uninstall or reinstall). Registered users will
get free upgrades for at least 1 year.
-
Which phones does No Calls support?
No Calls supports all Windows Mobile® 5, 6 and 6.1 phones. This includes
both "Pocket PC" and "Smartphone" devices, which are also known as "Professional"
and "Standard" Edition. It is not designed for iPhone or BlackBerry devices and
we currently have no plans to port it due to their technical limitations.
-
Does this interfere with my cell phone plan, voicemail or any other carrier service
in any other way?
No. It's just a way to reject calls without pushing "End" yourself.
-
What are some scenarios in which this can be useful?
Here are some examples:
- You're taking a nap and don't want to answer any calls.
- You're on a date and don't want to be disturbed by anyone except your family (in
case of emergency).
- You want to ignore phone calls from an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend or specific contacts.
- You're on vacation and want to ignore calls from all contacts in the "Work" category.
- You want to ignore calls from anyone who is not in your Contacts list (telemarketers).
-
Why do I need this app, when I can simply turn off my phone or put it on vibrate?
If you turn your phone off, you may miss important calls from people you care about
the most. For example, you turn off your phone to avoid work calls at night, but
your mom can't reach you anymore.
If you put your phone on Vibrate, you still have to screen your calls manually and
see who's calling each time. No Calls does this for you automatically so
you don't have to decide each time your phone rings.
-
I just installed it but don't know how to start it. Where should I look for it?
Once installed, the No Calls icon will appear in your Start menu as shown
below.

-
Does No Calls have to remain running in the background? Will it reduce available
memory or act as a background task?
This app does not run in the background. In fact, it exits itself when you've selected
a profile. The system launches it when an incoming call is detected. So it doesn't
use any memory, and it won't show up in Task Manager.
-
How many profiles can I create?
At this time there's no limit on the number of profiles you can create.
-
Can I make it automatically use a profile depending on time of day?
Not in the initial version, but we're definitely going to look into this for an
upcoming upgrade.
-
What happens if I've chosen to block all calls, and I'm already talking to someone
when another person calls (i.e. call waiting)?
No Calls will not do anything when you're already on the phone. So you can
decide whether you want to answer the incoming call or not. This ensures that your
conference/3-way calling is not affected.
-
Does No Calls work if installed on a storage card?
We strongly recommend installing it in main memory and not on a storage card. This
will ensure that calls get rejected instantly - otherwise there will be a slight
delay and you will hear more rings.
-
Was this app named "Do Not Disturb" previously?
Yes, we briefly named it "Do Not Disturb" during the beta, but changed it to "No
Calls" because another developer had a similar sounding app.
